How I made my inside cover

I used the same method to create my inside cover as i did my cover but I created still by using my music video. Did this both in I movie and final cut.

How I made my cover

I created my cover by first using the gradient tool which allowed me to pick a colour skemi, I then choose to use the radical gradient i then added as my background. I then repeated this 3 more times changing the colour skemi each time and the position i started it from. I then changed the opacity of the different layers to create a unique look when all the colours appear together. This gives the background a trippy feel as all the colours are bright and blend together, this links very well with your chosen song. I then used the slice tool to create the lines which i will work in. I use DEFONT.COM to find the styles of writing i wanted to use on my cover onces i had found the styles i wanted to use i downloaded them. They were Vol and Veysel. Vol is used for the name of the band, as i feel this is a modern style but still simple. Veysel is used for the name of the album and the names of the tracks on the dvd album. I then arranged the wording so it starts in the left hand corner and ends in the right, that way it is more likely to catch peoples eyes if they are in a hurry as people read from left to right and if adverts are laid out in this way they are more likely to be read. I then selected the photo i wanted to use on my cover. I opened this up in a separate window and used the rectangular marquee tool to select the part of the photo i wanted to use i then copy and pasted this into my work. Using the scale tool i changed the size and the opacity tool to make the image blend more into the background. I also used the eraser tool to get rid of any of the background which came with the photo. I used the blur tool to make the outline of the images less harsh. I then flatted the image down so that it is all one layer.

Adding Photos to My Inside dvd Cover

In today's lesson I took stills from my music video and added them into my inside cover. This was done by opening up my music video and then selecting the still that i wanted to use. I did this by pressing copy on the still and then saving this into folder. Then opening it up in photo shop and then selecting the bit i wanted to use and then copying and pasting it into my work. I then made the image smaller so that it would fit into my work. This was done by transforming the scale. I also made the image more transparent this was done by double clicking the image and then finding the transparent tool. I reduced the transparencies because the images looked to harsh when they were solid.
