Advanced Portfolio Evaluation

Final Cut was used to edit our music video; this was the 1st time that we used final cut. At first final cut was hard to use as we did not know any of the functions. However after a few lessons I was able to get an understanding of how to use Final Cut. An example of this is when I was editing our music the scene I had to edit was the opening shots, This was of all the band walking up to the camera on the roof of an empty car park. First I had to upload the footage, this was done by clicking on the link that said “capture”, and the next step was to click “now”. This allowed the footage to upload on to our final cut project. Ones all the footage had uploaded. I then selected the clip that I would be using. I found the part I wanted to use and then pushed “command I” which means this is the starting point of the footage I wanted to use. I then played the clip until I found which part I wanted to end on for this I pushed “command O” which means this is the end of the section of footage I wanted to use. I then bragged the section of footage down into the sequence. If the section of footage was a little but out of time I just clicked on the cut icon and found the bit that was out of sink and cut the footage so that it would fit. I then deleted the footage that I did not need. When adding effects to the music video I went to “effect” then clicked on the drop down tab and went to “brightness”, I then adjusted the footage until it was clearer to see. After I had done this the footage needed rendering so I went to the tab that said “render” and from there I clicked “Both”, this meant both the footage and the audio.
